Manage your payroll period and overtime rules

This page guides you through setting options in your system to manage your company's workweek, pay periods, and overtime rules effectively.

This process ensures that pay periods, workweeks, and overtime rules are correctly configured and aligned with company policies and legal requirements.

Instructions

To configure pay periods and overtime rules, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Other > Pay Period and Overtime Rules.

2. In Edit, you can modify three main categories:
    • Workweek
            • Select the day on which the Workweek begins each.
            • Set the effective date for these changes.
    • Pay Period
            • Choose the Pay frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly).
            • Specify when the pay period begins.
            • Set the effective date for the pay period changes.
    • Overtime
            • Choose the Company's overtime rule (Standard or California).
            • Set the effective date for the overtime rule.
            • By default, the selected overtime rule will be applied to all employees. However, you can adjust specific employees' overtime rules within their profiles.
            • Define weekly overtime as wage multiplied by 1.5 after 40 hours of work.

3. Select Save to complete the process.
