Print a check after a bill is entered

This page will guide you on how to easily print checks and ensure they match the supported check formats, helping you avoid any issues during printing.

Creating and printing checks helps you keep track of your payments and makes managing your finances more accessible by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.

Instructions

To create a check stock: 

  1. Navigate to Accounts Payable from the left menu, and select New Expense, then choose Bill.
  2. Fill out the bill details, including:
    • Vendor
    • Job (optional)
    • Transaction date
    • Due date
    • Posting period
    • No.

In Items, complete the following:

    • Account
    • Description (optional)
    • Cost Code
    • Amount
    • Mark as Billable (optional)
    • Retainage (optional)
3. Click Save.
4. To process the payment, go to Expenses and select Bills.
5. In Actions, click the three-dot icon for more options, then select Create Payment.

6. In the payment details, choose Paper Check as the payment method.

7. Finally, select Save to complete the process.

Print checks

You can also choose the Print option to print the check. If you wish to archive a check, select Archive and print archived checks, such as marking them as printed or printing or downloading the check.

Restore and verify archived check status

In the Archive subtab, you can restore archived checks and view their status, such as Void or Paid.

Additionally, by clicking on the Payment Number, you can review more detailed information about the vendor, payment method, transaction date, posting period, and the account from which the payment was made.
